Quality established by the World Health Organization

Health technologies are essential for the operation of a health care system.

health. In particular, medical devices are indispensable for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of diseases and illnesses, as well as for the rehabilitation of patients. Recognizing the importance of health technologies, in May 2007 the World Health Assembly adopted resolution WHA60.29. This resolution addresses the problems arising from the inadequate deployment and management of health technologies and the need to prioritize the selection and management of these technologies, in particular medical devices. In adopting it, delegations of Member States recognized the importance of health technologies in achieving health-related development goals; urged the expansion of expertise in health technology, in particular medical devices; and called on the World Health Organization (WHO) to take concrete steps to support Member States.

One of WHO’s strategic objectives is to “ensure improved access, quality and use of medical products and health technologies”. This is where Kalsteincomes in, with its reliability in all the years of expertise within the design and creation of technology for health.
